On Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m., the award-winning journalist Jerry Mitchell will speak on his memoir “Race Against Time.” Mitchell’s work as an investigative reporter helped to send four Klansmen to prison decades after their crimes took place. His lecture at King’s is being co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Christianity and the Black Experience and the McCandlish Phillips Journalism Institute. The lecture coincides with the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment, giving black men the right to vote. To attend virtually, REGISTER HERE.

Jerry Mitchell worked as an investigative reporter for The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi for more than three decades. In 2019, he founded the Mississippi Center for Investigative Reporting.
