Red and Green Affair Charity Gala

December 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Red and Green Affair (RGA) is a traditional Christmas dance at the King’s College put on by the Houses of C.S. Lewis and Margaret Thatcher. Over the years, RGA has taken many forms. It has been opened to the whole student body or limited to the houses of Thatcher and Lewis (with their plus ones). But throughout its history, RGA has been a lighthearted, dance-centric, community-building Christmas celebration. However, this year, the both executive teams, led by presidents Graeme Straughn (Lewis) and Anna Adams (Thatcher) have decided to reinvigorate the longstanding event with the spirit of giving, transformation, and community so central to the season of Christmas and our two houses.

We are rebranding RGA as a charity gala, partnering with the King’s chapter of International Justice Mission to raise awareness and funds for their work in ending human trafficking. We are opening the event to the entire student body, and planning on having raffles, activities, dancing, as well as a special musical guest. Before, RGA was similar to a high school dance. This year, we hope to elevate RGA: keeping all of the fun but imbuing it with our house’s values (specifically Fellowship, Service, Iron Love, and Harmony).
