Giving to King’s is easier than ever. Beginning today, friends of King’s can contribute to its mission with just a text message through an entirely new way called Smart Giving.

This new technology called Smart Giving is provided by Kindrid, a company that focuses on unleashing generosity through Smart Giving. “It’s a gift, not a payment—a relationship, not a transaction,” said Jason Burkholder, Creative Director at Kindrid. “Everything we build and offer is in support of this understanding. There is a renewing impact when we experience generosity, both in giving and in receiving. Lives are changed, shifting our focus from ourselves to those around us. We work relentlessly every day to fully support organizations like The King’s College in engaging new people in the transformational impact of a generous life.”

Donating via Smart Giving is easy: simply text the dollar amount plus the word KINGS to 45888. (For example, $100 Kings) First-time givers will be sent a link to a simple setup page, at which they will enter credit card information. The setup process need only be completed once. Gifts are not applied to phone bills and can be refunded in case of a mistake. In the future, donors will be able to use Smart Giving to give to specific designated projects at the college. Vice President Kimberly Thornbury explained, “We are excited to add this new method of giving. Many NYC churches already use Smart Giving, and we are thrilled to be one of the first colleges adopting this option for our donors.” For more about Kindrid, visit their website.
