Anne Hendershott

Anne Hendershott came to The King’s College after spending 15 years at the University of San Diego as director of urban studies and chair of the sociology department. She often says that she was attracted to The King’s College because of its mission of engaging the New York City culture from a committed Christian worldview.

When not in the classroom, Dr. Hendershott satisfies her curiosity through research and writing. She especially enjoys working collaboratively with King’s students on research and writing projects. Her most recent book, Renewal, was co-authored with recent King’s College alum, Christopher White. She has also published articles with current and former students in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the Washington Times, as well as popular periodicals like National Review, American Spectator, Crisis and other religious publications.

Beyond her co-authored book, she published five books before coming to King’s College including Status Envy, The Politics of Deviance, The Politics of Abortion, Moving for Work, and The Reluctant Caregivers. Dr. Hendershott commutes to the City from Milford, CT where she lives her husband, Dana. Her son, Jonathan, graduated from West Point, served five years in the military, and now lives and works in New York City. Her daughter, Heidi, is a professor at Fisher College in Boston. She has one grandchild, Luke Nanopoulos.
