Karelyn Siegler is a classically-trained artist who was born in Scotland and raised in Texas. She began her career as a student of modern dance and then moved into a career as a medical and legal illustrator. Thereafter she spent time painting in a French medieval village. In 1999, she returned to full-time study at the New York Academy of Art where she received her Master of Fine Arts.

Besides maintaining a busy professional career, Siegler is also a professor at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City.
