Joice (Barnett) Franklin (’54) died on March 22, 2021; Christopher Carlson (’80) is living in Raleigh and writes with personal updates; Lily Brown (’93) passed away on June 8, 2020 from heart failure.

Joice Franklin, who was Joice Barnett (’54) died on March 22, 2021. She is survived by husband Karl Franklin, who wrote, “We were with Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL International for 32 years in Papua New Guinea, then continued teaching and training until we retired in 2014.”

Christopher Carlson (’80) is living in Raleigh, still working with IBM. They are empty nesters, but celebrated the birth of a granddaughter in September 2020.

Kathryn Panaro writes, “Lily Brown (’93) passed away on June 8, 2020 from heart failure (not COVID-related). She is remembered as my (Kathy Weindorf) roommate. She was a Music Education major, led the TKC drama ministry, and was always smiling and laughing. She loved singing! She also served in the army and received an honorable discharge. Lilian was a nursing home aide recently. Lil loved and served God. She took care of her mom and loved her family very much.
