Faculty Promotions for 2021

The King’s College congratulates the accomplishments of four faculty members who received promotions this month: Dr. Joshua Blander, Dr. Steele Brand, Dr. Dami Kabiawu, and Prof. Paul Glader.

The King’s College congratulates the accomplishments of four faculty members who received promotions this month. We are thankful for these professors’ contributions to The King’s College and look forward to their continued work.

Joshua BlanderDr. Joshua Blander was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of philosophy. He has taught philosophy at King’s since 2011, specializing in late medieval philosophy and contemporary metaphysics. In fall 2016, he completed a fellowship at the Biola Center for Christian Thought, where he worked on theological and philosophical accounts of humility, with special attention to the overlooked tradition of humility in Hebrew Scripture.

Steele BrandDr. Steele Brand was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of history. He has served at King’s since 2015, teaching courses on the ancient Mediterranean world and medieval Europe. His teaching explores how the public life of the spirit binds people together within a polity. In addition to his work at King’s, Brand is also a scholar advisor at the Faith and Liberty Discovery Center of the American Bible Society.

Dr. Dami Kabiawu was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of finance. She has served in the business and finance program at King’s since 2014, teaching a variety of courses including Corporate Finance, Business Statistics, and Advanced Excel, all with a strong focus on using technology to support financial analysis and modeling. Prior to working at King’s, Dr. Kabiawu held positions in finance, management reporting, and financial application development.

Prof. Paul Glader was promoted from associate professor to full professor of journalism, media and entrepreneurship. He has taught courses in journalism and media at King’s since 2013. In addition to his work as a professor, Glader is an award-winning journalist. He spent 10 years as a staff writer for the Wall Street Journal, and has written for numerous other major media outlets. He also serves as the Director of the McCandlish Phillips Journalism Institute at The King’s College.
