The King’s College is pleased to announce that Peter J. Ferrara has been appointed to the Dunn Liberty Fellowship in Economics, generously supported by the Dunn Foundation in honor of William A. “Bill” Dunn. Bill and Rebecca Dunn have worked tirelessly to ensure that all Americans are able to exercise the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The fellowship provides Ferrara the opportunity to advance the mission of The King’s College by teaching select economics courses at the College while writing and speaking on public policy and free-market economics.

Ferrara graduated from Harvard College with a degree in economics and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He has held a variety of prestigious posts, including senior policy development staff in the Reagan White House and associate deputy attorney general under George H.W. Bush.

Ferrara’s previous roles also include senior fellow at the Cato Institute and John M. Olin Distinguished Fellow in Political Economy at the Heritage Foundation. He has taught at George Mason University as an associate professor and was chief economic advisor to Newt Gingrich during his 2012 presidential campaign.

As the Dunn Liberty Fellow, Ferrara’s course load will include both foundational and upper-level economics courses, and he will serve as a senior project advisor to advanced economics students. Alongside his teaching responsibilities, Ferrara will continue his extensive public writing and speaking schedule.

Ferrara appears frequently on Fox News and has written for media outlets including Forbes, Investor’s Business Daily, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and National Review. He is the author of several books, including America’s Ticking Bankruptcy Bomb (HarperCollins, 2011).

“It is a tremendous honor for us to welcome Professor Ferrara to King’s as the Dunn Liberty Fellow,” says Provost Dr. Mark Hijleh. “His profound understanding of and experience with the relationships between free-market economics, law, and government at the highest levels will be an incredible asset to our students and to The King’s College’s conversations in the public square. We are deeply grateful to the Dunn Foundation for its generous support of the Fellowship.”
