“You said it yourself, unemployment goes down to 7.6%, but everybody knows that is really misleading,” said Brian Brenberg, Assistant Professor of Economics, in a segment on Blaze TV’s Wilkow!

Over the course of the four minute segment, Wilkow and Brenberg discussed topics ranging from unemployment to minimum wage and taxes.

“Last month, the economy added 88,000 jobs,” Brenberg said. “If that’s the pace we continue to add jobs at, we will never recover to pre-recession employment levels. Even if that doubles, it will take us a decade to get there.”

Later in the segment, conversation turned to taxes. Wilkow and Brenberg discussed the negative effects of taxes on innovation in the medical field.

What lawmakers interested in helping healthcare in America must understand, Brenberg concludes, is that “If you tax something, you’re not going to get more of it.”
