Founders Competition FAQ
During the Thursday preceding first 5 Inviso: Official Campus Visit weekends. You must register for both events online.
Our address is 56 Broadway, New York, NY 10004. We are located in the Financial District of the city. You will present your speeches in the conveniently appropriately titled Founders Room on campus.
Please arrive on campus no later than 2:30P.M.

All papers must be submitted through our online submission form or through the unique link form that we emailed to you by the time you arrive on campus to give your speech.
Please email your presentations one week before you are on campus so each presentation can be loaded by the time we start. Please convert all presentations in Powerpoint. Prezi may be used. You will be using The King’s College computer and you will not need to bring your own.
Any high school senior or transfer student who has completed an application and meets The King’s College admission standards.
1200-1500 words. Please double space and use MLA format when citing references.
3-5 minutes. You will lose points by going over or under the time limit. A media component or prop must be used during the presentation.
There will be a panel of judges composed of at least one faculty member, one staff member and possibly one former Founders winner.
After your presentation, two questions will be asked by the judges concerning the material in your presentation. You will also present in front of the other participants who are in attendance.
Parents will not be in the room. We will be recording the presentations and the winners will be posted online.
We will be contacting the winners the first and second weeks of April. They will be announced once confirmed.
Yes. In fact, you must use some kind of visual aid or media in your presentation.
The essay is more academic in nature and the presentation gives you an opportunity to share the same information in a more creative format.
You will be asked to use your critical thinking and teamwork skills in order to solve a problem. There is nothing you need to prepare beforehand.
Previous applicants, whether they won one of the four full-tuition scholarships or not, have identified the competition as an ideal setting to learn about the quality of a King’s education and the calibre of their future peers. Long term relationships are built and it allows students to develop their comprehension of integrating culture and education.
