Two National Debate Champions Recruited to The King's College

Included in this year's elite class of freshmen at The King's College are two national debate champions, Michael Sheetz and Jonah Ortiz.
Both students participated in the STOA National Invitational Tournament of Champions for the homeschool speech and debate league last May. At the tournament, Michael and his partner won the championship in Team Policy Debate. Jonah won an individual Apologetics speech event.
King's Junior Writes Religious Freedom Report During Israeli Internship

King's Junior Jordan Caruso '15 landed two important internships this summer. The first was for Beth Gaines of California's 6th Assembly District and the second was for the Jerusalem Institute of Justice.Caruso's internship for Assemblywoman Gaines included communication coordination for every bill being processed for 2013 and 2014. When a constituent mailed in his opinion, Jordan would put his or her name on a support list for a particular bill.

Alumna Joins King's to Lead The King's Debate Society

NEW YORK -- August 7, 2013 -- The King's College has named Rebecca Tingstrom, J.D. as its next Director of Speech and Debate. Tingstrom will lead and grow the college's debate team, The King’s Debate Society.Tingstrom joins The King's College after graduating from the Regent University School of Law in May 2013. She recently completed associate work with The Keel Group, L.L.C.

Brooke Sabonis Franqui graduated from The King’s College in 2007, a year before the college introduced the Media, Culture, and the Arts degree. But since walking across the stage at commencement, Brooke has launched herself into a full-fledged career in television. Five years ago, Brooke joinedLeftfield Productions in New York City as a Production Assistant.
King’s Graduates Thrive in Law School

To the surprise of his Legal Writing professor, Bryan Nance, a 2009 King's graduate, not only received a perfect score on his first assignment, it was the first one the professor had ever given during her ten years of teaching. "I attribute catching-on quickly to my writing training at King's," said Nance.Just a few weeks earlier, Nance had not made the best first impression when he arrived in the class.
The King's College Honors Coreen Cook

Coreen Cook, the beloved wife of Dr. Robert A. Cook, went home to be with the Lord this past Tuesday at the age of 99.Dr. Cook was the second president of The King's College, succeeding Dr. Percy Crawford and assuming the presidency in 1962. From then until his death in 1991, Dr. Cook served The King's College with Coreen by his side.Coreen Nielson Cook was born on April 21, 1914 to Norwegian immigrants Harold and Hilda Nilsen. She was raised in Chicago with sister, Evelyn. As a child she attended the Logan Square Norwegian Baptist Church, where she gave her life to Christ.
Gregory Alan Thornbury Named as Sixth President
